In this video, Rae and Alex dive into the Autumn 2025 paint colour trends. They explore how this season’s shades are transforming homes and influencing interior design. They discuss the growing popularity of warm neutrals, earthy tones, and bold accent colours like Cappuccino Brown, Chartwell Green, and Dark Lavender. The conversation also touches on how colour choices are being shaped by lifestyle shifts, wellbeing, and sustainability. Eco-conscious, low-VOC paints are becoming more in demand. Rae and Alex share practical tips and colour combinations that capture the comforting, nature-inspired mood of Autumn 2025.

What colours are in for 2025 in the UK?

What are the best welcoming paint colours?

  • Warm Beige and Cappuccino Brown – described as grounding, cosy, and perfect for living areas.
  • Soft Khaki Beige – a versatile and timeless shade that makes spaces feel larger and more open.
  • Pistachio and Chartwell Green – nature-inspired tones that bring a calm, refreshing feel indoors.
  • Raspberry Red and Dark Lavender – deeper, moodier colours that still feel elegant and inviting when used as accents.

What paint colour is replacing grey in Autumn 2025?

Grey is being replaced by warmer, more inviting tones in 2025. Many people are moving towards warmer, earthy shades that feel more positive and comforting - so warm neutrals, earthy browns and nature inspired greens.

Paint trends in 2025

  • Sustainable, eco-conscious paints – low-VOC and environmentally friendly options are trending as more people make sustainable choices.
  • Autumn 2025 trends focus on warm, comforting neutrals paired with bold pops of colour - a move away from the cooler greys that dominated previous years.

Can I paint interior walls myself?

Absolutely! More and more people are doing budget-friendly home makeovers, painting interior walls themselves. Hemway paint is perfect for DIY as it only needs two coats, dries quickly, can be applied directly over most surfaces, and is available in a huge range of colours. It's also low in VOCs meaning minimal impact on air quality and has near zero odour.

[Rae]: Hi everyone, I'm Rae and this is Alex. Today, we’re talking about the latest paint trends for Autumn 2025.

[Alex]: That’s right, Rae. We’ll look at how these trends are influencing people’s lifestyles and wellbeing, and what’s exciting in the world of paint colour schemes this season.

[Rae]: So, Alex, let’s start with the big picture trends. We’re seeing a lot more neutrals and earthy tones coming into fashion, along with bold accent shades. What’s your take on that?

[Alex]: I think it reflects where we are globally – a lot of uncertainty. People want more positivity and warmth in their homes, which is why we’re seeing richer, more comforting colours take centre stage.

[Rae]: Exactly. The darker greys that used to dominate new builds are fading out, and we’re seeing those warm, inviting colours become the go-to choice.

[Alex]: Absolutely. Social media is full of these warmer tones, and I think that will only grow as we move through autumn. Hemway’s current palettes are a great example – I’m loving the Cappuccino Brown and Warm Beige. They feel grounding and cosy, just how I’d want my living room to feel. What about you, Rae? Any favourites?

[Rae]: I really like Pistachio and Chartwell Green. There’s something about bringing nature indoors – they work beautifully in kitchens, bathrooms, or as accent walls. Really calming and relaxing. Two others I love are Raspberry Red and Dark Lavender. They’re moody yet elegant – perfect for a statement dining area or bedroom.

[Alex]: Love those choices. Another one trending for me is Soft Khaki Beige. It’s such a versatile, timeless backdrop that makes small spaces feel bigger. I’m also drawn to Aubergine and Duck Egg Blue – playful and bold shades that bring life to a room. But yes, Soft Khaki Beige is definitely a favourite. It’s timeless and works anywhere. I’d also add Chartwell Green as one of the best accent colours around right now.

[Rae]: Totally agree. Let’s talk about how to use these colours in different spaces. I like using bold, playful tones for trims or furniture, and keeping earthy neutrals for full walls or larger rooms.

[Alex]: Exactly. And some of the pairings work beautifully together – Cappuccino Brown with Soft Khaki Beige, Chartwell Green with Warm Beige, and Dark Lavender with Duck Egg Blue. They complement each other really well.

[Rae]: Let’s also touch on matching colours to room size. The neutral, earthy tones are great for larger areas like kitchens, big bedrooms, or living rooms.

[Alex]: And the warmer, richer colours work brilliantly in smaller spaces – home offices, compact bedrooms, or small kitchens. It’s also worth noting how DIY trends are growing. More people are doing budget-friendly home makeovers, and I’m definitely one of them!

[Rae]: Same here. People want calm, restorative spaces that support their wellbeing.

[Alex]: Exactly. And we can’t forget accent painting – arches, stripes, and colour blocking are all big right now.

[Rae]: There’s also a growing shift toward eco-conscious paints – low VOCs and sustainable choices are becoming the norm.

[Alex]: Sustainability is huge. And Hemway’s not just offering eco-friendly paints – they also have sustainable tools like trays and rollers, which is great to see.

[Rae]: So, Alex, what are your favourite trends this autumn?

[Alex]: It’s a tough choice, but I love the warm neutrals and earthy tones we talked about – they’re timeless. At the same time, those classy yet bold accent colours really appeal to me for statement walls.

[Rae]: I’m with you on that. Do you think these colours will stay in trend?

[Alex]: Definitely. Shades like Soft Khaki Beige and Warm Beige are timeless – they’ll be around for a long time.

[Rae]: So to summarise, this autumn is all about warm, earthy neutrals balanced with bold pops of colour.

[Alex]: Exactly. We’ve covered a lot today! I’d encourage everyone to experiment – see how your colour schemes line up with these trends and have fun with it.

[Rae]: Thanks, Alex, and thanks everyone for watching. Be sure to follow and subscribe for more from Hemway.
